Privacy and Data Management Policy
Who we are
At Angel Face Jewellery (incorporating the RockStruck brand), we are committed to making sure that visitors to our website know that we are serious about making sure that any data they share is safe with us. In the main, we want you to know that we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies or businesses for Marketing purposes. We just don’t do it! If this doesn’t reassure you, we have provided some detailed information about when and why we collect personal data, how we use it, the limited circumstances under which we may need to disclose it to other parties and of course how we keep your data secure. We’ve tried to keep it simple and clear but please read it as it is important!
The types of data we collect
Cookies: Our websites use cookies to collect information. This includes information about browsing and purchasing behaviour by people who access our websites. This encompasses information about pages viewed, products purchased and the customer journey around our websites. Visitors to the site will be alerted to this automatically by way of a pop-up box and given the chance to consent. If you do not see a pop-up box when visiting out site, it maybe due to your own device's privacy settings. Detailed information is set out in our Cookie Policy.
Google Analytics: When someone visits our site, we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Mailing Lists: We use third-party providers, MailChimp and /or Weebly, to deliver our newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks on mailing links using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice and Weebly’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing us at information@angelfacejewellery.com
Training Enquiries: Anyone who enquires about a piercing course is required to submit information which allows us to ascertain that they are legally able to undertake the course. This includes their full name, their date of birth (students must be 18 or over) and both telephone and email contact details.
Training Records: All of our piercing students have their own training file. We hold their name, business name, address, date of birth, telephone/email details and copies of any email or text message conversations which we have held. Upon completion of their course, the record is updated with a copy of the student’s certificate of competence and their course invoice. Training records are securely held for two years.
Body Piercing Models: We advertise for models to sit for our students whilst they are learning. Anyone who attends for a piercing will be required to fill in a consent form. The form provides us with medical information which enables us to ensure that it is safe to carry out the piercings as well as personal data which we use to establish that models are of the correct legal age for piercing. These forms are held by the student who carries out the piercing, not by Angel Face Jewellery.
Social Media: All of our social media pages are public. Any private messages which you send to us via social media will only be seen by us, but if you choose to post an enquiry or photo directly to our page, it’s contents can be seen by anyone who looks at the page and we cannot control who will see it.
When we share information
In the normal course of our business, we do not share personal data with other companies at all. There are however certain times (as listed below) when we will share certain information.
- Bands who subscribe to be a Featured Artist or model for our RockStruck brand usually give permission under the terms of their artist agreement for us to share their band name and/or stage identity alongside a photograph of them wearing our garments on our website and public social media pages. We do not share information such as personal contact or photographs which have not been provided by the band themselves.
- If you enquire about the services of any of our affiliates through our website, you will need to fill in a private enquiry form which in turn allows us to pass on your contact information to them.
- Students who attend our piercing courses need to apply for a licence with their local council upon completion of their course. As this is a legal process, if a Local Authority or insurance company contacts us to verify the particulars of our former students in regard to their application for a licence or business insurance, we are obliged to co-operate and will provide the student’s name, date of birth, address and the date they attended a course.
Access to your personal information
Some of the information we hold is required to be held for a set period of time under law. Unless the destruction of that information would hinder a legal matter, you are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer Lyndsey Hopkinson at information@angelfacejewellery.com
